GOP Gaining Voter Trust
A new poll by Scott Rasmussen has some encouraging news for
Republicans American voters are starting to turn to the
GOP on economic issues. This is a critical development since
the economy is the issue dominating the news.
In his latest poll of 10 key issues, Rasmussen found that
likely voters are essentially tied in which party they trust
more to handle the economy 44% trust the Democrats more,
while 43% trust Republicans more. According to Rasmussen,
that is the closest the two parties have been on the issue
since last August. In addition, Republicans hold a
six-point advantage (47%-to-41%) on taxes. Look for that
number to grow as President Obama announces new tax hikes
just about every day!
Republicans have a slight advantage on immigration and Iraq,
and a big lead on national security (48%-to-41%). Democrats
have large advantages on education, government ethics,
health care and Social Security.
